Advanced Report Writing

Why should I take an advanced report writing class?

That is an excellent question. No matter how long someone has been a security officer or works in a different position, there is always some reporting that has to be done. There can be daily, weekly, monthly, or even annual reports that must be filed.

When reports are prepared, do we really proof them? Do we read them to ourselves to see if they make sense? Do we get a co-worker to read them? These all are important questions.

Understanding the key principles of advanced report writing, which include structure, detail, and clarity, is the foundation of this work. This involves mastering narrative flow and ensuring coherence throughout the report. Bad reports do no good for the person writing them or the management team that receives them, especially if the report is written to provide more questions than answers.

At Appalachia Training Institute (DCJS #88-10749), we want to ensure that students are well-trained in effective report writing. This will reflect well on the individual and support upper management by ensuring that the reports forwarded to them are properly structured and written in a professional format.

This course runs from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This is an 8-hour course and the cost is $100.00
