O8E Shotgun Entry-Level

Appalachia Training Institute LLC covers the O8E  shotgun entry-level course. The ATI instructor will teach proper handling and marksmanship techniques. This course focuses on the following key areas:

• Shotgun Handling: Includes identification of shotgun parts, sling types and usage, safe carrying conditions, chambering, reloading, and transitioning between a handgun and shotgun.

• Shotgun Marksmanship Fundamentals: Covers grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, breathing, and follow-through.

• Malfunctions and Actions: Addresses malfunctions, immediate actions, and remedial procedures.

• Safety and Maintenance: Emphasizes range safety and proper care and maintenance of the shotgun.

• Other Topics: Includes ammunition management and identification, dim light/low light shooting, and shotgun retention.

This course also requires a written examination. While the classroom portion provides foundational knowledge, the course also includes hands-on shooting and live-fire range instruction and qualification.

This is a 3-hour course and the cost is $75.00, plus range fees.
