What the Training Entails

Throughout the training, individuals will delve into the intricacies of Virginia's Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) rules and regulations and the critical laws governing the private security sector. Participants will gain insight into courtroom procedures, empowering them to navigate legal environments confidently.

The curriculum also covers various responsibilities that a security officer must master, including effective report writing and polished verbal communication skills. A trainee will engage in practical exercises that prepare them for emergency response scenarios, learn to conduct thorough threat assessments, and acquire essential de-escalation techniques. This course is a comprehensive stepping stone for those dedicated to ensuring community safety and security.

An 18-hour course (two 9-hour days); exam is given after the 18th hour.
